Shady Circumstances Surround Pastor’s Wife’s Alleged Suicide: Community in Shock

This may initially appear to be a man telling his community the worst news he could have received. However, every additional revelation adds to how shady this tale is getting.
At the Solid Rock Church in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, John-Paul Miller serves as a pastor. Last Sunday, April 28, he unexpectedly informed his flock of Mica Miller, his second wife, who had been estranged. Quite matter-of-factly, it seemed, he added, “I got a call late last night, my wife has passed away.” Up in North Carolina, it was self-inflicted.

He then briefed everyone on the arrangements of her memorial ceremony and instructed them to stop discussing the announcement within the church. Strange. Stranger still? He was quite fast to declare his ex-girlfriend’s startlingly early death to be a suicide. He went on to say, “She wasn’t well mentally,” adding, “Pray for me, my kids, and everyone else.” You were all aware of her mental health issues and the difficulty in getting the medication she required. Though I’m sure additional information will surface, please remember to pray for her family.
He said the same thing in an interview with the local publication WPDE, just really discussing her suicide and her prior difficulties with it very candidly.

She has previously battled thoughts of suicide. Every time, we would support her through it and take her to the doctor; eventually, we would get through it and all would be OK. She even gave a couple videotaped testimony here at the church. Despite her struggles with suicidal thoughts, she found solace in her faith, and with God’s guidance, she persevered.

“She was probably the greatest wife anyone could ask for,” he added to the site. She gave me a lot of encouragement. Every night, we would talk for hours on end about nothing at all.

terrible news aside from… The public currently only has his word that this was a suicide.

Major Damien McLean of the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office confirmed only the commencement of an investigation into the 30-year-old’s death. Speaking to the local ABC affiliate, he stated, “Officers are currently collecting information from individuals in South and North Carolina as part of their inquiry into Miller’s death.” As of now,

the cause of death has not been officially disclosed.
